I'm new! What should I expect?

Parking

We have a small parking lot in front of our building and a larger one in the back. You can enter through our front or back door. Please refrain from stopping on the street, parking across the street, or in front of the neighboring buildings.

Drop-off/Pickup

For the safety of our students, all students ages 11 and below should be picked up inside the front lobby.

First Dance Class

You should try to arrive at least 5 minutes early to your first dance class so you can introduce yourself to your teacher. If you don't have a dance uniform, wear something comfortable you can move in, bring socks, and secure your hair back out of your face. After the class has completed, talk to your teacher about their recommended placement level.

Dance Uniform

Ballet: hair in a bun, pink tights, leotard, pink ballet shoes. Optional short ballet skirt or bike shorts

Jazz: hair pulled back, black jazz shoes, black jazz pants or leggings, leotard

Tap: clothes comfortable to dance in, hair pulled back, tap shoes

Modern: hair pulled back, leggings, leotard

*all female dance students must have spaghetti-strap black leotard for performances. Nude leotard additionally strongly encouraged for older dancers backstage. Any color leotard is fine for classes.

Payment

In order to ensure the class is a good fit, we consider your first class a free trial. If you would like to continue to take the class, stop at the front desk or go to our website to fill out a registration sheet and pay the registration fee within 7 days. Tuition can be paid online or at the front desk with cash, check, or card.

First Music Class

You should try to arrive at least 5 minutes early to your first music class. We provide piano and drums, but any other instruments must be supplied by students. Teachers will direct students to purchase any additional necessary materials (workbooks, music, etc) after the first class.

Lobby

Our lobby is equipped with seating, tables, a water fountain, and restrooms for any family or friends who would like to wait during their student's classes. We sell snacks and drinks at our front desk for $1. A small playroom stocked with toys and books sits just off the lobby to keep young children occupied.
